Your elderly family members deserve the best care available and unfortunately they rarely receive it in nursing home facilities. 

 

In our experience, neglect does not typically occur due to bad nursing, instead it is a result of corporations failing to manage the nursing homes with Patient safety as the first priority. These facilities are operated on a for profit basis and reduce facility staff to increase profit margins, often to the detriment of their elderly patients. When these facilities are understaffed preventable injuries and death often occur as a result. 

 

What  are common types of Nursing home abuse and neglect
 

The most common types of injuries we see are bed sores, pressure ulcers, and falls that result in head injuries and broken bones. Bed sores and pressure ulcers typically occur due to failure to reposition the patient with enough frequency. Falls on the other hand are generally the result of a failure to put adequate fall prevention measures in place.
